Action Required: Security Vulnerability For Windows Users

November 17, 2014

Microsoft announced a security vulnerability affecting Windows operating systems. The bad news, all platforms appear to be affected. The good news? Unless you’re running Windows XP, it’s stupid easy to fix.

Just run Windows Update. No, seriously. That’s all it takes. Open your Start Menu, and in the Search Bar that appears just above the Start Button, type Windows Update. Then click on the Windows Update link that appears in the search results. This will open the Windows Update console. You can also get there by clicking Start > Control Panel > Windows Update. Most Windows Updates require a reboot, so make sure your work is saved and other programs are closed. Go now! Don’t wait!
